Verandah is a Butterfly Mark certified conscious luxury brand retailing among the best luxury destinations with design roots strongly based in India, bearing a unique signature style in story-based hand-illustrated prints, fine embroideries, and sustainable fabrics, across resort, ready-to-wear, swimwear, and lifestyle with a zero waste and circular design philosophy.
Created by Anjali Patel Mehta, Verandah was born while she was on a break from a decade-long career in Investment Banking; while looking for joyful, soft, and chic warm weather designs to wear all year round at home in Mumbai. Anjali’s designs featured in hit HBO Show ‘The White Lotus’ for Season 3 and today, Verandah stocks at luxury department, specialty stores and luxury hotel properties at the likes of Bergdorf Goodman, Joseph Fashion, Ounass, Printemps, By Marie, Eden Rock St Barths, Hotel Du-Cap, Rockhouse, One and Only, Ritz Reserve’s Four Seasons, The Dunmore, Five Story and over 100 other premium retailers across the world. Verandah’s runway collections lines have been showcased at Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI in India and the brand showcases in Miami, New York and Paris. Verandah supports an education program for tribal girls in the Tiger reserve of Ranthambhore Forest and an afforestation program in the East of India.
About the Founder :
Based in Mumbai, Anjali is an ex investment banker in Global markets with a career spanning from Goldman Sachs, Fortress and Deutsche Bank with consulting stints at the Acumen Fund and the NY City Dept of Education. She is the daughter of a trained artist and Chemical engineer, keen traveler, golfer, beach, art, food and design lover, active mother of two, Anjali founded Verandah out of the need to find customised, luxe, chic, fuss-free, travel friendly and unique transitional summer separates that embraced colour. All of that without any formal training in fashion and life spent between Mumbai and New York. Her mission today is to create a joyful Indian luxury label inspired by the sights, smells, and contours of her land presented in joyful prints and timeless separates that tell a story . Anjali sits on the board of the leading Tiger conservation NGO, Tigerwatch in India marries her philosophy of giving back and care for the environment with the brand with her partnerships and support to the Baagh Pari and Sankalp Taru Verandah forest projects in India. She works closely with her sister Gayatri, brother in law Nicky and a small close knit team in Mumbai traveling globally with the brand.
